Mission

Our mission is to provide safe and reliable daycare for children from low income and disadvantaged homes. Payment is on a sliding scale based on their household income and number of people in the household. Our parents can go to work and/or school and be productive members of society knowing that their children are in a safe and caring environment where learning is a priority.

Background

Community Child Care Services, Inc. opened its doors on April 16, 1987 in Hendersonville, Tennessee. This was the result of a year of hard work and planning by twenty citizens who saw the need for low-cost quality day care in the community. One of these citizens, a social worker, realized the same people kept coming back for help because they could not get a job without affordable day care for their children. The need was evident and the day care was formed to support the Sumner County area. The center receives funding from the USDA food program and employs a full-time cook. The Center accepts daycare assistance vouchers, without charging overages of the State rate and receives grants through the United Way, City of Hendersonville, Sumner County government and the State of Tennessee. We receive continuing support from the City of Hendersonville, various area churches and civic groups.

Impact

Through our partnership with community members and our generous donors such as United Way, City of Hendersonville and Sumner County to name a few, Community Childcare Services, Inc. is able to provide quality childcare to a historically underrepresented community.
This year's donations will allow Community Childcare Services, Inc. to continue to provide much needed necessities, provide parent support, and empower our staff to become the highest quality educators and members of a thriving community.

Needs

Our top five most pressing needs are human and financial. For human support, we always need volunteers, board members, and new staff. As for financial concerns, the majority of the families we support and serve are below the TN median family income level, and Community Childcare is a crucial lifeline and safety net for our families. We champion the success of our families both intellectually and materialistically. Parent material needs include but are not limited to diapers, wipes, personal products, food, etc.

In short, our most pressing needs are:
1. Community support: volunteers, board members, additional staff
2. Funding: additional funds for parent and staff programming and facility improvement
3. Material: diapers, wipes, personal products, food, etc.

CEO Statement

We believe a child's interactions at school and at home shape their lifelong understandings about the world. That is why we strive to ignite a passion for learning which each child will keep throughout their life. To achieve these goals, we adhere to a well-developed academic curriculum, hands on experiences that have real life meaning to the children in our care, emphasize teacher training, and ensure that everyone at CCCS has the tools needed to help every child succeed.
