Mission

To undergird ministries and individuals with a root system that will facilitate growth and effectiveness in making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Background

Aspen Tree Ministries is all about the restoration of hearts and souls. Aspen Tree Ministries has established a network of spiritual care providers for Church leaders who are broken and weary, but Aspen Tree Ministries is also looking to support and "give a hand-up" to prison inmates who are seeking God and wanting to productively re-enter society. From these two extremes and all the people who fall in between these two spectrums of life, Aspen Tree Ministries is seeking to bring people to healing and wholeness. From leaders in the Church to the forgotten and down-trodden, our goal is to strengthen the people by way of preaching, teaching, renewal and worship events, providing resources, and by establishing transformational outposts around the world.

Impact

Aspen Tree Ministries has been developing a supportive network of Christian brothers and sisters who are currently or who have previously been incarcerated as we develop our ministry in this area. - ATM provided support to inmates coming out of prison, such as supplying needed supplies, clothing, furniture and personal encouragement as they make a transition back into society. -ATM has helped to publish inmate books that chronicled their journey from being lost and angry to becoming a transformed man blessed by God's redeeming grace. -Aspen Tree Ministries has provided teaching, preaching and writing by our Executive Director at various venues to impact people for positive life transformation. Events for Teaching and Preaching include: - Provided spiritual counseling to church leaders in the Nashville area. -Preaching at numerous area churches In the coming year: -Aspen Tree Ministries will continue with the current ongoing ministries listed above. -ATM is also exploring possible locations for the "Aspen Tree Center." This location will be a place to provide for ministry activities such as: -To host regular week night Healing and Worship Services, not to be in conflict with area churches, but as a resource through which faithful commitment to a local church is encouraged and in which relationship with area churches and pastors is intentionally fostered. -To provide Healing and Prayer Room ministry on a daily basis where people can come to pray and to receive prayer from Healing and Prayer Room ministers. -To offer services of Christian Counseling, Spiritual Direction, Christian Coaching, and Freedom Encounter Deliverance & Inner Healing by appointments. -To offer various classes in Biblical Studies from a life application perspective. -To provide workshops and teaching in various aspects of Spirit-filled Ministry. -To provide Pastoral Renewal events and opportunities. -To Publish Materials and Produce Resources that will undergird persons with the necessary spiritual tools and encouragement to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. -To provide Training and Employment of Former Inmates who personally know that Christ's love can transform even the hardest of hearts because they have experienced this transformation in their own lives and in doing so to provide exceptional, first-class services at competitive prices in various enterprises such as Industrial Cleaning, Landscape & Lawn Services, Appliance Repair, Barbering, and Private Catering. -To arrange for former inmates who are networked with ATM to be available to speak to students in schools, church youth groups, juvenile detention centers, alternative schools, and other agencies serving youth to provide motivational testimonies to deter criminal activity and to encourage and model positive life choices. -To provide Life Skills Education and Character Building opportunities for "At-Risk" youth in cooperation with the Juvenile Court and local schools. -To organize the first 'Midnight Hour' event, and other events, which is a healing and wholeness outreach, open to the public.

Needs

Finances to support expenses for a location for the "Aspen Tree Center" would be ATM's number one need. This location will be a place to provide for all ATM ministry activities. Finances are needed to support the scholarships to provide healing and coaching to make for more effective leadership. Finances to support event expenses (the venue, staging/lighting/ sound/screens, insurance, etc.). Labor to support events (hosts, security, setup and take down people) Finances to support promotion expenses and fund raising (advertising, travel expenses, printed materials, conference fees)

CEO Statement

Aspen Tree Ministries is positioned to make a difference in people's lives which has the potential of having a positive impact on society as a whole. Wounded people wound other people, and the spiral effect of such brokenness destroys lives and families. When leaders are healed and whole, they can impact many others in a positive way, thereby multiplying the number of productive and fruitful lives in society. Likewise, statistics show that the recidivism rate is 65% within 3 years for inmates coming out of prison. Equipping and positioning inmates for success when they come out of prison reduces the negative spiral effect of their lives, which will have a far reaching positive impact on society, as well.

Board Chair Statement

From a governance perspective, the successes at Aspen Tree Ministries (ATM) are related to our strong procedures associated with the Aspen Tree Network (ATN) and by-laws. These procedures were developed when ATM recognized that our main goal revolves around the strengthening of leaders through coaching and spiritual direction. The forms and procedures can be viewed on our website at aspentreeministries.org. In every organization it is the quality of the people involved that really "makes or breaks" an organization. The Board of Directors of Aspen Tree Ministries is very much a "working board" in that each member plays a vital part in the success of the organization and each has assignments to be personally fulfilled. We meet often and in each of these meetings the group is motivated to make great strides to meet our goals. Our goals are to help leaders who are burned out and needing renewal and helping people who are re-entering society after being incarcerated. The challenges facing ATM revolve around finances. With more, we can do more. We have success stories to tell regarding leaders who have been worn down and burned out and are now revitalized, but it is hard to share some of these success stories, due to confidentiality issues. Additional finances will allow us to reach more broken leaders and restore them to effectiveness. The biggest challenge facing ATM is the need for publicity and education of what we are doing. If people understand who we are, and what we are all about, then the finance needs will be fulfilled.
