Mission

As a non-profit organization, our mission at A.B.C. Sports Foundation is to provide current and former athletes with resources to make a meaningful impact in their communities. We focus on mentoring youth through financial literacy, social justice, health and wellness, education, and, of course, sports! Our main purpose at A.B.C. Sports Foundation is to connect Athletes and Businesses through Community Initiatives.

Background

A.B.C. Sports Foundation became official in 2019, however, they were around several years before building connections with communities and athletes through youth football camps. After seeing the need for youth mentoring initiatives in underserved communities, they quickly realized that expanding athletes' philanthropic opportunities was necessary year round and not only during the off season. Now formally established as a non-profit organization, A.B.C. Sports Foundation's mission is to provide current and former athletes with resources to make a meaningful impact in their communities year round. Our focus is to mentor youth through financial literacy, social justice, health and wellness, education, and, of course, sports! The main purpose at A.B.C. Sports Foundation is to connect Athletes and Businesses through Community Initiatives.

A.B.C. Sports Foundation has several programs that work with youth mentoring and works with roughly 25 current or former athletes. Each client is tasked with utilizing their "star status" by building relationships with youth in either their hometown, college or team market. This is done by working with programs that require follow up or check ins where clients see students' progression. At A.B.C. Sports Foundation, the primary goal outside of giving back year round is allowing athletes to realize how special they are to the youth and the value of creating memorable experiences that will stick with them for a lifetime.

Impact

A.B.C. Sports Foundation serves an estimated 1,700 kids throughout the year through community events such as football, basketball, mental health awareness camps. The organization also supports over 500 families through food bank collaborations and monetary assistance to low-income families during the holidays. The estimated number of impacted participants this year is 2,200 with the goal of doubling that amount in 2022 by expanding initiatives to more communities in need.

The long term goal of the organization is to have an endless amount of resources to support programs in the US and abroad that support its mission. However, in the interim, A.B.C. Sports Foundation would like to double its reach by next year and in the next 3 years to reach 50,000 families and youth, respectively.

Needs

A.B.C. Sports Foundation is in need of financial support to expand its youth mentor programs as well as providing scholarships to youth. In addition, A.B.C. Sports Foundation works with low-income families to provide resources such as Thanksgiving meals, toy drives, back to school drives, Christmas gift cards and more. We would love the support of monetary or in-kind donations for our events, as well as, volunteers who would like to be involved in our organization's mission. The primary goal of helping low-income families is provide aid to alleviate stress that may be caused by living in poverty and educate our youth to become the best version of themselves.
