Description
East C.A.N. operates a Community Information Resource Gateway through our email address, info@eastcan.org. We respond to over 200 emails a month (over 2,500 emails a year), providing information about our program services and a wide range of information and community resources regarding animal welfare and veterinary care. All messages receive a link to 18 different resources including: spay/neuter services, lost/found animals, adoptable animals, emergency veterinary services, in-home end-of-life services, and pet-friendly rental homes. Many of our email inquiries result in multiple communications via email, text and telephone over a series of days or weeks, depending on the individual need.

Description
East C.A.N. provides veterinary care for vaccinations, spay/neuter, routine checkups, flea/tick preventative and treatment/medications for illness and injury. We also provide food and other necessary supplies (bedding, collars, leashes, chips, brushes, toys, etc.)

Description
East C.A.N. utilizes our network of resources to place the animals in our program into permanent adoptive homes. Potential adopters complete a detailed application/contract that is carefully reviewed by our leadership team. We arrange meet-and-greets and home visits to allow both animal and human(s) to get used to their surrounding together to make sure the adoption is a good fit for everyone.

East C.A.N. is committed to grow our support and volunteer base through community relationships with individuals, families and businesses to foster education and awareness about companion animal care and resources in our neighborhood and larger community. We commit to utilize these resources kindly and judiciously in soliciting funds to grow and support our mission.
