Description
NHA uses an integrated curriculum that begins with our humanities study, incorporating important people of the time, culture, geography, philosophy, religion, art, and music. The humanities theme is studied throughout the year with great depth and follows a scope and sequence of world history allowing the students to study the units in chronological order. From the humanities unit, the science units are determined, helping these units to intersect, overlap and connect with the humanities study. The student's reading is incorporated in the humanities unit using classical literature. Composition often stems from the humanities or science unit. Spelling lists are composed of works not only from spelling rules but also from literature vocabulary and the individual student's writing. Art and music appreciation correlates to the humanities study as much as possible. The truth of who God is and the knowledge of the Scriptures are interwoven into all of learning.
