Description
We are planning our second Bellevue Living History Day for Sept. 30, 2023 at the Red Caboose playground. We will have exhibitors to demonstrate activities that would have taken place in the late 1790's and the early 1800's.
We are hoping to be able to repeat this program every 2 years.

Long-term Success
Our first program held in 2019 was a great success with about 200+ visitors and 9 exhibitors. We intended to try and repeat the program every two years but Covid interfered.
Short-term Success
Since Covid interfered, we have great hopes for this years program.

Description
In the months of February, April June, August, October and December, we have a speaker on the second Monday evening of each of these months. These programs are held at either the Bellevue Public Library or the Bellevue Church of Christ. The programs take place at 6:15PM and are open to the general public and publicized in the Davidson County area.

We have had these programs now for over a year and are pleased with the increasing numbers who attend.

In both June and August we had over twenty-five attendees.

Description
This is a new program for us. We are planning field trips to various places of interest to history lovers. These trips are planned for the months in which we do not have a speaker, January, March, May, July, Sept. Nov. We have offered a hike to Mound Bottom, a trip to the State Archives Building, and a trip to the Tennessee Railway Museum.

We have only offered four field trips.

We were pleased to have ten attendees to the Sate Archives building and thirteen to hike to Mound Bottom.

Description
Our members have taken responsibility for the maintenance of the DeMoss Cemetery in River Plantation. The Homeowners Association cuts the grass but we provide all the rest of the maintenance including repair of some of the tombstones. Future plans include rebuilding the rock wall around the cemetery.
Program Successes
We have removed limbs, sowed grass seed and fertilizer. One broken tombstone is under repair.

The upkeep of the cemetery keeps the area available for family members and others interested to visit. The rebuilding of the wall will improve the area.

Description
Docents, dressed in period costumes will hold informational seminars and workshops for children and adults, so they may see how women of that period dressed while undertaking everyday chores. They will see how women, in long dresses, were able to clean house, cook on an open fire, and raise children during a time when modern conveniences were not available.

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

We are actively seeking new members and new board members who are interested in helping us preserve the cabin, work in the cemetery, and help us plan our meetings with speakers sand our field trips. . At our monthly meetings, six meetings with a speaker on the second Monday of the even months( Feb., April, June, Aug., Oct. , Dec. ) , 6 field trips on a Saturday on the odd months (Jan. March, May, July, Sept., Nov.) , we seek new members and look for those who seem interested in being on our board. Ou speakers and field trips are open to the public and we try to have as much publicity as possible.
