Description
Hit the Books After-School is a boxing and literacy program for middle-school girls and boys. The non-contact lesson/workout program, called Float/Sting, was created by Coach Halbert, based on Muhammad Ali's gold-medal style. HtB After-School engages students in the Nashville area who are at risk for absenteeism, failing a grade, and/or dropping out of school, and takes place on-site at the participating middle school. Students meet twice per week for four weeks.Hit the Books Boxing League is a 9-week boxing league for middle schools in the middle Tennessee area. Boys and girls participate through their school club, and learn boxing techniques and tactics under the direction of school coaches and certified boxing coaches. Students are matched in contact and non-contact boxing competitions with other participating schools, with proceeds benefiting the school's library.We are recruiting schools to participate in both of these programs. Description
Nashville Boxing Club is a program for youth and young adults wishing to compete on the local, regional, national, and international levels of Olympic-style (amateur) boxing. Club Teams consist of local and travel teams, including schoolboy/girl (13-14), junior (15-16), youth (17-18), elite (19-35), and master's (over 34).Collegiate Boxing is a club program specifically for college students in the Nashville area, wishing to participate in boxing competitions, including National Collegiate Boxing Championships via United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association (USIBA, collegeboxing.org) and National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA). Student boxers may compete independently or as a school club team.Olympic Hopefuls program is for competitive boxers who are on track to participate in Olympic qualifying events in a quest to become Olympic boxers. Olympic Hopefuls travel for national and international competitions. BRC/Nashville Boxing has produced numerous national and international champions.

Description
These programs introduce the benefits of boxing training, build community, and encourage participation in the sport on all levels. In Your Corner is a 75-minute boxing lesson/workout for pairs looking for bonding/adventure -- i.e., parent/youth or mentor/youth. 4-7 pairs train together, as they apply the metaphor of a boxer's corner to their own support network.Run/Jump/Throw is an athletic movement program for middle-school girls, to spark an interest in boxing and/or school sports. The 6-week program meets twice per week, guided current/former collegiate athletes. Students learn/practice efficient movements, to improve coordination, strength, and speed, to increase future enjoyment of physical education and sports.Battle of the Badges is a competition for those with careers as firefighters, police officers, and others involved in public safety and law enforcement. Proceeds for the competition benefit families of fallen public servants, and amateur boxing in middle-Tennessee.

Junior/Youth Camps operate at various times through the summer, and are designed to give students a positive introduction to boxing, as well as the benefits of fitness.
