Long-term Success
Since 2014, D.O.T.K. has served over 6,000 families and school age children ranging from Pre-K grade levels to college age students. Long-Term Success is to increase the number of families and children served, increase partnerships with vendors and manufacturers who can supply our organization with ongoing school supplies and personal hygiene items so that these items can be offered and made available to meet the needs of students not only at the beginning of each school year but anytime throughout the year.
Short-term Success
Basic school supplies can cost parents an average of $150.00-$200.00 per child. D.O.T.K. recognizes the need to assist families by reducing or eliminating the burden associated with the cost of buying basic school supplies. Program short-term success and achievement is based upon the personal testimony of families and children. The fact that children leave the event with backpacks, school supplies and hygiene kits in hand, represents an immediate outcome and results that prove the needs of families and children have been met.
Program Success Monitored By
To know what is working and what is not working with the program, success is monitored by logging grade levels, logging basic household information, logging the number of backpacks and hygiene kits distributed at the event.

One in eight people in the area and one in five children are food insecure. Feed My Lambs long-term success is to combat hunger in the local community and beyond...to wipe out hunger all together so no one would ever miss a meal or go to bed hungry. This is the ultimate change that will result from this program.
Short-term Success

CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

One challenge Daughters of the King continues to hurdle is locating and securing a permanent physical structure where our meal giveaway program can operate at its full capacity. Although our organization doesn't have a permanent structure of its own, we face this challenge by securing partnerships with local pastors and congregations who believe in our Feed My Lambs Program's Mission: Combat Hunger in the Local Community and Beyond. Through these partnerships, our organization is given access to utilize church community centers & kitchens to prep, heat, cook and serve free meals to the general public.
