Description
Advocates provide supportive services to enable healing from domestic or sexual violence. Our court advocates review legal options, assist with filing Orders of Protection, and help throughout the court process. Sexual Assault Advocates provide information, and offer assistance and emotional support through the medical or legal process. Shelter advocates ensure immediate safety and urgent safe sheltering needs.

Description
Sexual assault victims ages 13 and above without severe injuries or physical trauma may present at our office for sexual assault forensic exams (Rape Kit). All exams are done within a safe, secure, and confidential space and performed by a licensed nurse who has been specifically trained and certified to perform sexual assault exams. Exams are performed within strict medical protocols and procedures and adhere to nationally recognized SANE best practices. Clients are connected with a sexual assault advocate who provides compassionate support and resources to allow client's choices and victim-centered approaches towards their own healing and next steps for managing their case.

Description
Confidential emergency safe shelter is provided for those who find themselves fearing for their safety in their home due to domestic violence. The shelter provides temporary housing in a safe, confidential location allowing families fleeing from violence a chance to become stable while working to secure permanent housing options away from abuse, reducing homelessness among DV victims. We operate one of the largest safe shelters in the state, providing women, men and children a safe haven from violence.

The Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center removes the financial barriers for those seeking safety, healing and recovery from domestic violence and sexual assault. Our program provides free quality services that are based on best practices and trauma informed standards. All services are victim-centered with the focus of empowerment, hope and healing. We are proud to be the only dual service provider in Rutherford County to specifically address both domestic violence and sexual assault prevention, protection and empowerment services.
