CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

1. My Friend's House, the only program of its kind in Williamson County, desires to serve the needs of Williamson County's at-risk youth but too often finds that it receives DCS and Centerstone referrals from other counties.Response: Investigating through focus groups, the needs and work of Williamson County with plan program restructuring to meet those needs.2. My Friend's House Residential Programs too often receives residents that require two times or more length of stays due to lack of transitional beds, available housing options or unrealistic permanency plans requiring longer-term residential involvement. RESPONSE: My Friend's House is advising all new intakes that as a short-term stabilization facility, four (4) months is a maximum length of stay. Additionally, we are reviewing all referrals permanency plans to ensure they are viable in the short-term. 3. My Friend's House residential is often required to serve at-risk youth whose needs are far beyond a Level II program, who need a more secure setting with longer term treatment. RESPONSE: My Friend's House is declining Level III and up referrals. However, this is causing a major occupancy issue and impacting fees for service income. We are attempting to diversify funding through DCS preventative dollars, private pay respite care and operating cut decisions.
