Description
First Call provides new and expectant parents with a trained parent mentor, information, gifts and baby showers. It supports families upon receipt of secondary diagnoses, during long hospital stays and times of crisis. Through this program, it also provides materials to local providers and hospitals.

Description
DSAMT provides support groups and family activities for new parents and those sharing the experience of Down syndrome. Group family counseling with a professional facilitator is also available as needed. DSAMT also provides regular support groups including D.A.D.S. (Dads Appreciating Down Syndrome), community outreach groups, and Moms Night Out meetings. It also provides educational workshops and bi-annual educational conferences.

DSAMT provides inclusive, age-appropriate recreational, educational and social opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome. These include but are not limited to: Creative Arts Camp, iCan Shine Bike Camp, Easter Seals Camp, Extraordinary Evening Dance for teens & adults, Once Upon a Friendship Dance for middle-school aged children, employment opportunities, Circle of Friends monthly social program, Next Chapter Book Club weekly reading program, Extraordinary Fun with Friends activities throughout the community and scholarship opportunities.

DSAMT supports educators, medical professionals and employers with training and resources to meet the needs of individuals with Down syndrome in the classroom, as patients and in competitive work placements.

DSAMT supports individuals with DS and their families to advocate for inclusion and acceptance, educating the community on key issues. It works with local, state and national law makers on key legislation that benefits those with disabilities. It provides advocacy support and training to parents with school-aged children.

Regarding our programs, our biggest challenge today remains outreach to our outlying communities. In order to provide programs in these areas requires additional funding.
