The Buddy Ball Special Needs Athletic Program provides individuals who have a mental or physical disability the opportunity to play sports, regardless of their limitations. Buddy Ball helps individuals learn teamwork and promotes self-esteem and self-confidence as well as creates a support network for the athletes and their families. The Buddy Ball league is aware of the extra expenses incurred by the families of individuals with disabilities. Because of this, Buddy Ball does not charge any fees to participate. Buddy Ball offers individuals ages 3 through senior adults the opportunity to participate in several sports, including: Basketball, Baseball, Bowling, Cheerleading, Street Hockey and Water Polo. Games are held once per week during that sport's season and there are no separate practices. Teams are grouped primarily by age and then by ability level.
