Description
The TPO is strong believers in investing in even the youngest artists in our community. Our education program reaches students and families across the Middle Tennessee area. We take professional musicians into the classroom and other public spaces. These musicians present a live musical performance, an instrument "petting zoo" and our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, ARTS, Mathematics) program. Our STEAM program correlates with the Tennessee Academic Standards for Science. It focuses on vibration, sound production, soundwaves, pitch, and volume. The instrument "petting zoo" is a hands-on experience where students/families can not only play the instruments, but where they can examine the construction of the instruments and feel vibrations.

Our Main Stage concerts will begin in November 2023 with our annual Veterans Concert. Following our Veterans concert will be the Christmas concert in early December 2023, the Valentine's concert in February 2024, the Music Excellence Awards in March 2024 and concludes with the Season Finale in April 2024. CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

One big challenge is to reach the public and achieve the awareness of the value of the TPO to the community. The contribution of the TPO to the quality of life in the community, the intellectual development of students and the welfare of our senior citizens cannot be measured. The public is not aware of what it takes to make the TPO program happen, both financially and organizationally. As is often the case, grants and donations to art organizations are cut first in economic downturns and ticket sales only make up about 25% of our budget. The TPO is blessed with a very dedicated board and staff. With a very limited marketing and advertising budget, the TPO is increasing its outreach through collaboration with local schools and other art organizations in order to reach and inform a greater public.
