CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

Children's Advocacy Center is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and is currently staffed with three full-time employees. Our Directors are nominated by their peers, well-vetted, and then selected by the current Board of Directors. Each Director is established in their chosen professions and serves as respected member of either Warren or Van Buren County. The selection process carefully analyzes each candidate's unique qualities and strengths. We continually strive towards the obtainment of an adequate representation of our community within our organization. The purpose of our Board of Directors is to ensure we maintain a purpose consistent with our mission, safeguard public trust through transparency, integrity and accountability, are in compliance with all laws; provide management and financial oversight, and plan for long term sustainability. We have the prospect of expanding our Board to achieve the maximum number of Directors as outlined within our By-Laws. We have the opportunity to acquire a couple more Directors to further enhance the cultural and professional diversity within our organization. The greatest challenge our Board faces, and will continue to face, is ensuring adequate funding to sustain our much needed programs long into the future.
