CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments
Children's Advocacy Center is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and staffed with three employees. The Executive Director reports to and takes direction from the Board of Directors and the staff reports to the Executive Director. Children's Advocacy Center, as most small non-profit organizations, struggles with ensuring funding is consistently available to meet ever-evolving staffing requirements. We currently operate with three full-time employees, each fulfilling assorted duties outside of their primary scope of responsibility. We have program opportunities which would merit an increase the number of employees, yet available funding requires the ever allusive matching funding commitment. Volunteers support our Center through community outreach and fund-raising efforts, but because of the professional level and confidentiality required for our services, there are limited in-house volunteer opportunities. We are working with area universities to cultivate a pool of potential intern candidates to help alleviate some of the ancillary duties of our current staff. However, the rural location for our Center, and the hour commute from either university, somewhat limits the availability of qualified candidates. |
