CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments
In 8 years NAMI Davidson has grown from documented outreach of 1200 personal contacts to over 10,000, not inclusive of website hits and social media. in 2012 we had one support group location and now have three locations. IN 2012 we had difficulty filling one caregiver class with 4 people. Today we cap fall and spring caregiver classes at 18 people each and have added a monthly seminar to capture those folks between classes. Community outreach now includes formal letters of agreement for monthly stigma-presentations with two agencies and recently has grown to include programs of the Metro Action Commission and a new relationship in formal development with Family & Children's Services. The majority of these programs are being carried out be trained volunteers, though there is emphasis this year on expanding staff. A growing number of volunteers delivering programs has created the need for a program coordinator. With the assistance of a coordinator we could move forward with our goal to open up free support groups in Antioch and North Nashville and further our outreach, fund development, and advocacy efforts. |
