Dorene's Experience: Dorie Bolze has served 20 years as the founding E.D. and now President & CEO. Bolze currently serves at the Chair of the Williamson County Stormwater Appeals board, serving since the board's inception. Bolze also has served as Vice-Chair of the Franklin Stormwater Appeals Board, as a member of the TDOT Environmental Advisory Committee, and on numerous local and state committees. Bolze has 30 years of experience in the field of conservation policy related to wildlife conservation, energy efficiency, marine fisheries, protected area management, and international wildlife trade. Before 1999, her conservation professional career was based out of New York City. Bolze was Director for new program development at the Rainforest Alliance, a lecturer at Columbia University on Issues in Conservation Biology, Director of the Policy Program at the Wildlife Conservation Society (based at the Bronx Zoo) for six years, and an environmental policy analyst for five years at the National Audubon Society. Bolze has appeared in national and international news stories, written over 30 articles, book chapters, Congressional testimony, and policy reports, and participated in drafting and passing national legislation. At National Audubon Society, Bolze coordinated a national volunteer acid rain monitoring network. Bolze helped launch two local conservation organizations, including the successful Long Island Soundkeeper. Bolze has four film credits on television network specials about wildlife issues and managed an award-winning international advertising campaign in Asia on the affects of the increased trade in traditional oriental medicines on the tiger. Bolze earned her Masters of Environmental Management degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and her B.S. in zoology from Duke University where she was an A.B. Duke Scholar and a Deborah Steer Scholar at the Duke Marine Laboratory. She is also a member of the Society for Conservation Biology.
