Mission

The mission of the David Jones Jr Assisted Living Center (DJJALC) is to provide safe, comfortable, and affordable housing as well as an enhanced quality of physical, psycho-social, educational, and spiritual life for seniors.

Background

The David Jones, Jr. Assisted Living Center (DJJALC) was established in 2004 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The objective of the 34-room facility is to provide seniors, 62 years of age and older, assistance with activities of daily living. For over sixteen years, our team of professionals has remained committed to impacting the community and changing lives of seniors by providing quality care and reliable assistance in a safe and welcoming environment.

Impact

The immediate effect is that the DJJALC provides high quality care for residents, often those who are economically disadvantaged, allowing them to pay fees that are well below market and insufficient to cover the DJJALC operating costs.

The care provided by the DJJALC staff results in enhanced quality of life and extended years of health for each resident.

Needs

The most pressing needs of our organization are as follows:

- To contribute to the sustained viability of the operation and allow the facility to remain affordable for residents
- To be able to pay wages that attract and retain highly capable associates
- To effectively market the services such that community members will be aware and readily take advantage of our services

Board Chair Statement

All of our residents have been COVID free due to the highly effective measures instituted and managed by the administrative team and staff. Highly effective protocols have been initiated and followed to assure the health of residents and staff. We have benefited from the assistance of non-medical volunteers primarily from the membership of the Schrader Lane Church of Christ (currently not accepting volunteers due to precautions related to the pandemic).
