Mission

At Hidden Bee Farm Animal Rescue, our mission is more than a goal; it's a calling. Rooted in the principles of servant leadership, we strive to be a beacon of compassion and responsibility in our community.

We are committed to providing a nurturing sanctuary for abused and neglected farm animals, where they can recover, flourish, and find joy. But our vision extends further. By engaging with our community, particularly the young, we illuminate the path to empathy, self-worth, and social responsibility.

This mission holds a special place in our hearts, having witnessed the transformative power of caring in our youngest son with autism. Through love and nurturing, we have seen him blossom, embracing the joy of serving others.

Collaborations with educators, businesses, and neighbors are integral to our philosophy. They strengthen our mission, spreading the virtues of kindness, empathy, and servant leadership. We don't just rescue animals; we cultivate human hearts, nurturing a culture of compassion that can change the world.

Join us at Hidden Bee Farm Animal Rescue, where every creature, human or animal, is embraced with love and respect. Together, we can build a legacy that resonates through generations, guided by servant leadership, compassion, and shared responsibility.

Your involvement, your compassion, can make a difference. Be part of a movement that transcends the boundaries of our farm, creating ripples of kindness and understanding that can touch countless lives. In the eyes of every saved animal, in the inspired heart of every child, we see the promise of a better, kinder world. Come, let's journey together.

Background

Hidden Bee Farm is the tale of two stories. While the Hidden Bee Animal Rescue was established in 2020 (and became an approved 501c3 non-profit in 2021 and DBA Hidden Bee Farm) with the purpose of helping and healing abused, injured, and/or mistreated farm animals, it is these same animals that have provided incredible joy to our autistic son Jackson. Being autistic and epileptic, Jackson has incredible challenges. But, Jackson has a tender and pure heart, and his love/compassion/care for animals is never-ending. Jackson's greatest social challenge may be that of communication, but Jackson's non-verbal communication and connection with the animals are simply unexplainable. Ironically, it often appears that the animals with the greatest past suffering Jackson seems to have the greatest connection and calming effect.

While some animals may be rehabilitated before finding a new forever home, many animals will ultimately live out the remainder of their life on Hidden Bee Farm - where their lives will be filled with peace, love, and comfort. Although it has been less than a year since officially becoming a non-profit, numerous animals have been rescued including (but not limited to) 6 donkeys, 5 horses, 11 goats, 4 pigs, ducks, chickens, and 2 cows. In addition, several events have been scheduled at the farm.

Impact

At Hidden Bee Farm Animal Rescue, our inaugural year has been rich with accomplishments, reaching beyond animal rescue to touch the lives of the special needs community in extraordinary ways.

Our mission began with the launch of the Hidden Bee Learning children's enrichment program and expanded with the addition of Sensory Santa and Special Field Trips tailored for those with special needs. These unique experiences have created inclusive environments that engage, educate, and uplift.

Through our summer camp, first pumpkin patch, and the anticipation of the next, we've seen smiles bloom on the faces of children, regardless of their abilities. The rehabilitation of donkeys, the creation of new pastures for horse rescues, and the birth of healthy babies have illustrated our commitment to healing and life.

With a focus on the broader community, we cleared and fenced new areas, launched a vibrant website, and embraced social media platforms. Receiving our first corporate donation within the first three months of existence has further energized our mission.

Our planned goals, including an outdoor bathroom, kitchen in the workshop, fall teaching program, Animals & Autism event, and our ambitious $25,000 goal for pasture improvements, all serve to deepen our impact.

But perhaps the most heartwarming aspect of our journey has been our engagement with the special needs community. Sensory Santa has brought joy in a gentle, accommodating manner, while Special Field Trips have opened doors to exploration and connection that might otherwise have been closed.

These thoughtful, inclusive programs are not just activities but expressions of our core values. They manifest our belief in the dignity of every individual, our dedication to servant leadership, and our unswerving commitment to create a world where everyone can feel the warmth of community and the joy of discovery.

The fabric of Hidden Bee Farm is woven with empathy, service, and a passion for making a real difference. Our first year's achievements are just the beginning of a journey filled with promise and purpose. As we continue to grow, so does our resolve to build a legacy that embraces all, celebrating the unique beauty in each life we touch. Your support fuels this beautiful mission, and together we can continue to create a world filled with understanding, compassion, and joy.

Needs

At Hidden Bee Farm Animal Rescue, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the strides made in animal rescue and community enrichment. Yet, our journey is ongoing, and our needs remain constant:

Barn Repair: Our historical barn needs refurbishing to continue serving as a safe haven. Estimated cost: $15,000.

Fencing Expansion: With growing animal numbers and the need for non-wood fencing, this is vital. Estimated cost: $3,500.

Public Restroom: Enhancing visitor experience requires building restrooms and a septic system, at an estimated cost of $7,000.

Tree Trimming: Safety demands attention to our century-old trees, preventing potential hazards.

Expansion & Educational Enhancements: We aim to expand our learning areas, add an animal quarantine section, and introduce a clear beehive for educational purposes.

Fundraising: Continuous support for veterinary bills ensures our animals receive the best care.

These needs aren't merely practical requirements but integral parts of our vision to create an all-encompassing sanctuary. From educating children to rescuing animals and specially crafted programs like Sensory Santa for the special needs community, every part of Hidden Bee Farm is a testament to our commitment.

Your continued support allows us to forge ahead.

CEO Statement

At Hidden Bee Animal Rescue, we began with a simple yet profound purpose: to rescue animals and extend empathy to the autistic community. But along this beautiful journey, we discovered something extraordinary we didn't foresee at the start: a place where all children can learn leadership, confidence, and empathy.

Our mission has grown into more than a rescue; it's a sanctuary where the joyful connection between child and animal blossoms into lessons of compassion and understanding. Whether it's the careful touch of an autistic child with a rehabilitated animal or the laughter during our unique events like Animals & Autism, the impact is immeasurable.

But it's in the eyes of all children, regardless of their background or challenges, where we see the spark of something magical. It's here, amidst the pastures and barns, where leadership skills are nurtured, confidence is built, and empathy is instilled.

This unique approach, grounded in servant leadership, goes beyond care and rehabilitation. It's about creating a space where every child feels valued and every animal feels loved.

Our needs continue to reflect our expanding vision: a barn that serves as a haven, fencing that ensures safety, and special educational initiatives that foster growth and inclusivity.

Hidden Bee Animal Rescue is more than a place; it's a living testament to the power of empathy and service. It's where children learn to lead with their hearts, and animals find a second chance at life.

As we continue this heartwarming mission, we recognize that our success is not merely in the numbers but in the lives touched and the lessons taught. Together, with compassion and commitment, we can nurture a world where love leads and understanding grows.

Board Chair Statement

Hidden Bee Animal Rescue was established in 2020 (and became an approved 501c3 non-profit in 2021 and DBA Hidden Bee Farm). Needless to say, this was an incredibly challenging time to create a non-profit from a revenue/donor generating perspective. The economy and personal incomes were impacted by the pandemic. Then, record inflation even more dramatically impacted virtually the entire nations income levels. As a result, fund raising has been much more challenging than initially anticipated. That said, we have overcome some of the individual donor shortage with a couple corporate donors. In addition, we have scheduled a couple fund raising events such as the fall pumpkin patch.

Hidden Bee Farm is the tale of two stories. While the Hidden Bee Animal Rescue was established with the purpose of helping and healing abused, injured, and/or mistreated farm animals, it is these same animals that have provided incredible joy to our autistic son Jackson.

The positive impact that animals have on Jackson and their ability to break through the autism barrier was the genesis for making the non-profit have a dual purpose focus. To see a child who may have limited expressive ability visibly and spontaneously respond to an animal or the sensory triggers of the farm is overwhelming. There are many moments that parent of neuro-typical children take for granted (just like I did with my oldest child), but these are moments that autistic parents dream of (just like I did and do with my youngest son Jackson). I am so thankful that Hidden Bee Animal Rescue can bring families these moments.
