Adventure Science Center has launched a capital campaign to replace BodyQuest, a 20 year old exhibit, with a new gallery that will explore human performance through the lenses of healthcare, sports, and technology - three key industries that have deep roots in Tennessee and drive our economy forward. The gallery will be 9500 square feet of immersive space with 15-20 interactive experiences. All exhibits within the Health, Sports, and Human Performance gallery will reflect K-12 Tennessee science standards and promote interactive hands-on, minds-on engagement in support of classroom learning.
This gallery will seek to answer such questions as: How does the typical person compare to those who perform at extreme levels? How do we repair our bodies, adapt to new challenges, and evolve the capacity to continually push the limits of our physical capabilities? How does modern healthcare play a role in allowing us to achieve peak performance?
The full creation of this $7-million gallery is being planned with assistance from professional sports teams, healthcare companies, and universities. With a useful lifespan of 10 years, the exhibit will impact more than 2.5 million visitors.
