CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

The EEOG is fulfilling a critical community need. In Tennessee,one-third of public high school students' dropout of school and 50% of AfricanAmericans, Hispanics, and Native Americans fail to graduate. EEOG students have a 95% graduation rate and 86% graduate with honors. One of the most pernicious failing in education is the divergence in educational attainment between children of modest means and those with more money. Poor kids tend to lag behind while children of more advantaged parents do much better. EEOG's ability to address this disparity come from personal experience. The EEOG educationallecture/speaker series key element is to level the support provided to disadvantaged students to allow them to catch up - to reduce the achievement gap with their more advantaged peers. The overarching goal of the EEOG is to help create positive pathways to success for low income students from challenging backgrounds by exposing them to individuals and experiences that can help change the current trajectories many currently face. Since June 2001, the EEOG's core focus is to invest in student capital and create meaningful change to prevent high school dropouts for students receiving a public school education. Our mission is to inspire underprivileged students to become the future leaders of the world. EEOG is a 501(c)3nonprofit organization that creates positive pathways for low income studentsfrom challenging backgrounds to succeed. We execute this mission by exposing studentsto prominent individuals and experiences that will help change the trajectoriesthat many of them currently face. EEOG's core focus is to invest in studentcapital by creating meaningful change to prevent high school students fromdropping out.
