CEO/Executive Director/Board Comments

We have faced a major financial challenge this year in that two major donors no longer contribute to PFA. One because DJandT closed down and the other larger donor has moved on for personal reasons. In response, we had to pause for several months and restructure so that the program would continue to succeed. You will note the $80,000 budget is less than in previous years. We will continue to serve our most needy counties but fewer of them. Still we should be able to accomplish approximately
2,000 spays and neuters in 2024. In 2023 we have helped with 965 neuters and are aiming for 1500 by year's end.
This will be possible with help from grants and donations as well as current bank balances. We have received a grant from Lawrence County for $20,000, and we have received Animal Friendly for $1800 so far.We have a continuing partnership with Cheatham County. We are in the process of applying to : CFMT, TN Coalition for Spay/Neuter, Doris Day AF, Mutt Nation, and Hugs and Kisses. Of course we are doing fundraising in several communities both with businesses and individuals. We have the veterinarians, the system that has worked for many years, and some new and ongoing financial commitments, but it is our biggest challenge to overcome the losses of those two donors. We will persevere for the animals!
